education & outreach

We bring, free of charge, professional productions geared to family audiences all over the east coast. Accompanied with these performances are workshops for children and teens.

Our education and outreach program is essential to our company. REV is committed to making live arts accessible to all. Typically, we create children’s theatre workshops and rehearsal processes which inspire many to break out of their box, better follow directions, find peace, and even join the theatre industry. Traveling to Philadelphia, New York City, Cape May, Scranton, Stamford, and more, we bring shows and classes to you! Contact us to create an educational or performance opportunity.

This program gives children and teens, often times from lower-income families, the chance to shine on stage and learn valuable skills which may be applicable to issues beyond the theatre. Many of our student actors have never seen live performance before. Our philosophy centers around building up self-confidence, self-esteem, physical balance, dance ability, collaboration/imagination skills, and public speaking skills all while giving student actors the chance to work with a professional theatre company.

REV is focused on educating our community on civil rights issues, environmental issues, and local politics. With that, we've responded to the Black Lives Matter movement in an open letter and continuously updated list of resources and groups to donate to.

PHILLY FLIER 2023 FINAL FINAL.jpeg

Since 2003, REV has been working to making inclusive spaces for all theatre-goersOur first iteration was an adaptation of "Hansel and Gretel," retitled "Handsome and Petal,"  presented in Fairmount Park (Philadelphia) and Mill River Park (Stamford). In both cities, we partnered with non-profit community organizations: The Christian Street YMCA and PHYS. ED. and the Boys & Girls Club. REV’S Artistic Directors and teaching artists led workshops for 100 children ages 8-12. The response from the community and families was overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic and as a result, both organizations invited REV to return time and time again to lead workshops and present free performances.
